I want to preface this review by stating that I don't know much about the source material or the surrounding context that it depicts. As this deals with real people and very sensitive topics, I want to stress that any criticism for story and characters is solely applied to this specific film and nothing else. After all this time of searching, I had given up hope that I would ever find something as amazingly epic as Miami Connection (you can see my awesome review for that here). There was something majestic about its awfulness that I began to believe could not be replicated. Then I saw this movie and found new hope in life and all of its opportunities. I have a slight confession to make. When I originally first looked up Cube , I had thought that it was the same film as this one. Given the premise of both of these movies, one could hardly blame me as both are quite similar, however their execution is a bit different. In my Cube review (which you can read here ), I lamented on the movie's aging special effects and figured a newer, shinier trapped-room horror film would put it to shame. With that said, I figured it would be wise to actually see the newer, shinier version so I could properly make such a judgement. Although my readers know I'm a huge fan of slasher flicks , I'd vehemently debate that the sub-genre of horror that is nearest and dearest are the "deadly-scenario" films. Yeah, yeah, that's not a real name for a sub-genre, but I'm essentially describing the types of horror films where people are trapped/isolated in some type of hostile setting where they have to work together to survive. If you're looking for examples, I'd point to Deep Blue Sea , The Thing , and Night of the Living Dead to name a few. Since the days of when I first saw  Blade Runner , the cyberpunk subgenre of science fiction has been my favorite theme of all time. When I first saw this game's teaser trailer and discovered it was based off of an old pen-and-paper role-playing game (RPG) system, I immediately dug into the antiquated  Cyberpunk 2020  and immersed myself in its dystopian future. I've been a player in two of the RPG system's campaigns, as well as managed two more. To say that my excitement for this game's release was intense would be an understatement.
